I recall reading that the type were hand-selected by Kurt Cobain for the atmosphere that they lent to the performance. The article alludes to a bit of that, but in the end I merely get the impression that it was an important album for Nirvana, not the full extent of how much this is remembered by people of the relevant age at the time. Based on the time it came out and Nirvana's status it became something of an important cultural and generational moment for many people at the time. I feel that this article could certainly use a bit more discussion of the cultural significance of this performance. I heard a rumour someplace that there's going to be a DVD release of the unplugged concert that has previously unreleased footage? I'm too lazy to look this up. I think we should add Southern Rock or Cowpunk since the Meat Puppets played some songs.
